MACRO_CONFIG_INT(BrMaxRequests, br_max_requests, 25, 0, 1000, CFGFLAG_SAVE|CFGFLAG_CLIENT, "Number of requests to use when refreshing server browser") It's currently set to 25, which is quite slow for a modern PC. I've set it to 96, which should be smooth enough for most players.

That's true, however a modded client can feature a button for jump and fire the next tick

Yes, cheats are always possible. But it's a very different thing to implement it in the base game

I agree it is not a problem, I only wanted to share that particular aspect. I was frustrated by failing many rocketjump so I wondered what was the cause

Now I remember I should fire later, however, by design, another game may facilitate the action by looking few milliseconds in past and let you rocketjump even if you fired before jumping

I talk in the perspective of mod creation, that isn't always useful for the official development

But Teeworlds gameplay isn't that rich or multi layered, so it's hard to make the base mechanics more accessible

It would have been a necessary step if we wanted newcomers not to get pushed away by years-long players, but I'm not sure that would have been enough

It's clear that vanilla game types need more complexity to differentiate strategies and ways to play ... Now it's always move pickup aim shoot

any idea that may result from any discussion will firstly need someone to implement it and secondly someone to merge and approve it. Since both will not happen, I find this to be somewhat a waste of time. Hence, I am indeed not participating.

I implement everything I say in my mod. However here is a nice place to discuss with people that know a lot of Teeworlds source code
