I think it was open source with the usual license? in which case, it's always nice to credit the original works, but you don't even need to ask :)

there was quite a bit of fine tuning with how the shield acts, so if you can straight up port his code it's best I think :)

and yeah it should do great in fng! it was a breath of fresh air in 0.7 instagib that unfortunately did not really last...
