It's just my personal sensation/intuition/feeling , nothing scientifically proved. It's a mix of some unnecessary abstractions overhead, verbose settings user interface, and many little exceptions to consider, for example I don't know if it is still necessary to use the dilate tool for new tilesets, etc...

ddnet initially uses 0.6, so it has fewer features

in any case, you can create your own client cleared of unnecessary functions

Of course I am not complaining, the contrary. With Teeworlds I had casually experienced modding in c++ for the first time, learning by doing just for fun

I'm a hobbyist game designer/modder who liked to keep an eye on what happening around veterans of this game

At the very beginning I was looking for a low system requirement action game. I was especially curious to try playing a 2D real-time multiplayer ... Crawling search results one by one, not late I ended up on Teeworlds home page

Playing was fun, those "tees" with the hook give the feeling of being very agile and acrobatic, doing everything on the fly like magic. (edited)

I tried non standard game types and, one day something I couldn't figure by myself made me use the forum to receive help (edited)

This led me to discover the open source nature of it , and slowly caught my attention
