I typed out a bible as reply to that comment haha. Then I realized I was too invested and nobody actually cares xd. Tldr: the ddnet client is good. The ddnet based ctf/dm servers are not more diverse gameplay wise they just offer a bridge so all can play together from 0.6 and 0.7
