Hi guys, I hosted a fng2 server from this fork https://github.com/Jupeyy/teeworlds-fng2-mod on cheap VPS with ubuntu.
And it lagged when someone joins server, when you freeze someone, when you throw someone frozen on spikes.
So I tried to upgrade VPS to 2gb RAM and 1vCore (Ryzen 3000/5000/7000/9000, Xeon E-2200/2300/2400) and still get same lags.
My question is what causing those problems? Should I try even more expensive VPS or it doesn't make sense?
If your ram isn’t full 2GB should be more than enough. I can recommend a minimum of 2 cores.
But either way there is probably something else going on your server. It shouldn’t lag. Did you monitor the cpu/ram/network load? How bad and long are the lags? Are you sure it’s not your internet? Who is your VPS provider?
the lags are short, but every time in the events I mentioned, I didn't monitor load in any way, I'm sure it's not my internet, but it may be VPS network problem
