@Zwelf: could we get the old icon back? The official logo is nicer and made more sense for the official channel than some custom skin

Sure. The space has the official logo. What do you think about using other official skins for the channels?

There should be no custom skin whatsoever. Especially on element ios I only see this goofy tee and #bridge. The concept of space is not always clearly conveyed in matrix.
