There is no objectively "best" way to handle tiles. It's a game design choice. Same with physics, if hooks weren't stronger pulling you up teeworlds movement would feel so much worse, yet it's not exactly intuitive or realistic that they do

If tiles like teleporters or freeze influenced the tee as soon as the edge of the hitbox collided we'd be losing an entire mechanic, the ability to stand on the edge is widely used in a lot of race and ddrace maps
