The way it's set up in ddnet, it hopefully wouldn't be thaat much trouble to generate and handle another protocol

yeah. But you probably couldn't do much if it is a feature update tho. Even minecraft couldn't do much within a major version

The way csgo does it is pretty nice but we don't have the ability to force every user to update clients if a client bug is introduced due to the server content.

I mean protocol level compatibility e.g. new fields added to netobjects, new messages, contents of messages reordered

well... I planned to make a strong hook out of it that grabs on input

u shoot the harpoon, it attaches to a hookable tile or a character, and then you might pull (yourself to hookable; the victim to you) (edited)

also a meter of how much you can pull, so that you can't just perpetually pull someone

Sounds cool to be honest :3 I thought about something similar, like you shoot it against a tee and then it somehow attaches to a hookable, which will make it stuck until you somehow destroy it with your weapons

yeah like normally hooking at a tile but it is not your own hook

for e.x if you shoot it at a tee you can shoot another one and if you shoot it against the roof ( if hookable) it will hang like that ( without getting pulled)

shoot some web at someone and stick that web to a wall kind of weapon ^^

exactly, like if you are hanging at a rope you will not get pulled nor you will be dragged down, like hanging there

I had an idea to using a shorten, lengthen the hook so that you can hang in spot, but I hadn't thought of being able to hook someone to something

Currenty "Console" and "console" are mixed. So I decided to go with lowercase since that seems to be more dominant for other log types.
