I can't find the link to a source or anything

seems like it takes the map and spits out a structured xml, using base64 encoded binary data for the tiles data

omg that tool is awesome this is exectly what i was dreaming of since the last few years! seems to be very outdated tho

what i expect for 120 is it is working easy to compile and works error less with 0.6 and 0.7 with embedded and external mapres etc

map2xml is a project from 2008 that could be nice but i guess its better to let heinrich rewrite it in rust

@Patiga the goal is to be able to convert any map format into an intermediate representation like xml or json and back in order to be able to port maps over different teeworlds versions

binary is generally smaller than plaintext i think

We can use another format, let's just not use the most annoying one though

I see no benefit to use a human-readable format

you can see small changes in maps more easily

you can parse them with commonly available libs/tools

if you make the order stable, you can probably version control maps as well
