suggestion, make the ready bind have to be pressed twice in a quick fashion in order to pause a game
12:03
that would reduce the number of accidental pauses
(edited)
12:03
how does that sound

Nice to finally have the community back together

Here is to hoping we dont need any more breaking low level protocol changes so that the next bridge code doesnt look even uglier
Dune
2020-07-12 21:03:15Z
That's nice yeah
21:03
Though it makes those bridge servers DoS vulnerable?

0.6 servers are, mine for example shouldnt, i only accept ddnet client and ddnet based clients because they have a token system
21:17
ddnet still supports 0.6 vanilla clients without token
redix
2020-07-12 21:24:19Z
But the tokens are only used for connection based messages, not for connless stuff like server info requests
21:24
At least as far as I remember
Dune
2020-07-12 21:25:23Z
since they still support 0.6 vanilla clients, they could be attacked using that protocol, right?
redix
2020-07-12 21:28:03Z
In theory yes. I think ddnet only responds a minimal packet for the server info requests on high load.
Dune

oh, clever
redix

I actually tried this on a vanilla server, when there was an ongoing attack on all 0.6 servers. People instantly started complaining that servers appear empty although there were people playing...
Dune
2020-07-12 21:37:37Z
sounds inconvenient yeah

@redix
+1, that's a way to avoid cpu consumation & outgoing bandwidth
22:57
but it doesn't really appear empty, it just doesn't send ingame players infos

Still annoying. Using tokens like 0.7 does is a better option

dunno why it is annoying, when I search a server for my case I do not care
