Currently we are using votebans on zCatch and I think this might highly help vanilla and every derived mod. It's a "simple" means of preventing people from abusing the kick vote system without kicking or banning them, while keeping the number of players constant on a server. A constant number of players will also keep other players playing the game happily, as servers might not get too empty due to trolls and what not being constantly banned. I got a few ideas to improve the editor and to prevent some common mapping bugs:
  • Repeat button: Maps automatically repeat themselfs on edges. Make a button to do this in the editor, too. E.G. you see deathtiles repeated endlessly, doodads like trees, bushes, bones in grass_main, etc.
  • Low Detail button: Automatically hide all detail layers (and show non-detail layers) so you don't have to do it by hand. A lot of people play on High Details disabled.

  • Remove CFlow and it's commented out remains.
  • Fix how the 50 Hz effects timer was also 100 Hz.
