I'm highly against centralized hosting like ddnet does. It's only good for areas like america, where nearly nobody is hosting anything. 0.5 had no ddnet and it was great, every little motivated home server hoster had ppl on their server even tho the connection was crap. best times ever. decentralization is king.
Decentralized is nice yea. But crappy connections arenβt. Also the consistency that comes with one network is nice. Especially for number nerds who want to know what their best times are. I started like 3 times from scratch to collect zCatch stats because a new hoster/database appeared. It just feels a bit useless to even start collecting those stats.
