What about a container format? @Dune flat concatenation of a describing text file (name, localized, whether day, night or both, credits for the author), the png icon (please make it mandatory for ux sake), and one or two maps? If you can't just flat concat them, use a <length><encoded> format similar to BER

Makes it a lot easier to distribute as "compiled" theme file, is a very simple encoding, putting info text at first makes it even editable in every better text editor and supports localization

Besides, if we have it that way, make it more powerful and let the theme override particles, etc as well (im tempted to say every file in a similar fashion as storage.txt, like implement it there and specify a loader on a very low level (or just use tar archives) but I'm not sure if that's a good idea)

@Dune do both and make it a compile step like datasrc/themes/<name>/day.map,.... Compile to data/themes/<name>.theme

right now you can just draw your little map and set it as a background, with 0 skills and never opening a console :)
