I think a update rls broke it and we decided not to fix it because we might have something else in store for later and it would be "waste of time" to fix it and later have to do it all over again anyways
I don't know these laws that well but I can assume it'd basically be a black market of trading if KoG is not a registered company but sells merch and if it is then taxes has to be taken care of and that requires to know about law since KoG handles with regions all over the world and they have different rules and restrictions and tax laws etc.(edited)
If you pay for the servers but want to host in Antarctica or something, it's not going to be worth the hassle for us maintaining the servers(edited)
15:05
Even when it's all payed for
15:05
But if you have a decent location, good hoster, pay for it and it's not redundant, then yeah
15:06
(With redundant I mean "unnecessary"
example: adding servers in Switzerland would do pretty much nothing since we already have servers in those areas)(edited)
15:07
For example the recent Aus servers
15:07
It was a known player reaching out (also ddnet mod I think) who said I'd like servers here, I'll pay for them and there is this hoster (one we already use in other locations)
15:08
It fills a spot of a region we currently don't have, it's payed for, player is trusted, hoster is trusted. All looks good
For Avo it just makes sense to follow laws, I understand and agree with him. For outsiders they might think it's annoying, but it's not their asses on the line, so who cares(edited)

Because this was your answer, it seems you draw the conclusion that I meant 2-3 maps / week was bad activity. I just want to know how you got to that conclusion from this message
Bʟυɛ ♡
I'd rather have less activity, but the right kind of activity
than just a lot of random activity
Same goes with anything.
Someone is struggling to be a good person/friend you help them, if it works, GREAT if it doesn't... well, maybe we get another chance, maybe they're too far gone.
Someone is struggling mentally, life being rough, you help, might work, might not, youngster wants coaching advice in sport, you help, maybe he doesn't understand, maybe he has hard time learning, it is what it is

But, you're just looking at numbers, so... idk (edited)
All those 3 things are true, you can argue that it's my fault or not. That's your conclusion, I and a few others disagree, you and a few other agree. It is what it is(edited)
That might be true for you, I cannot tell you why you left, only you know that. But I've heard some reasons behind your decisions to leave and some actions and decisions that you said were a part of it, weren't even my decisions. I was just the messenger.
And also, the more entertaining thought to think aboutis: If I'm only here to enforce KoG/Discord rules and that's such a problem for you, that says more about you than me.(edited)
I mean the maps are in queue, testers put them in ready to release, for sure but testers can tell admins to release which map to release first on their own decision
Mixi wanted to release a certain map despite other testers claiming it was a bad idea and "just a meme". I raised a question in admin chat about it and we voted on that particular map and then I delivered the message in the map channel

This is my last statement for today.
To not start another useless discussion I will use facts only.
Current testing situation in kog is much worse than it used to be few months ago. A lot of channels are dead and maps are left without any testing activity for months. Getting rid of offtopic conversations there wont change anything in case of real valuable feedback and testing, it will only make things worse. Part of the problem is caused by not enough testers being active (for a long time, even worse now). We can agree that majority of active testers left recently after admins decided to interfere in testing section (declining map where testers had majority 3:1 - Krumplee, me and FJP vs Route, I dont remember if Zonsa said something but even if we still had majority). Even if it wasnt reason for all of them to leave for sure it played role in it. Releasing maps in slower pace (1 map per 1-2 weeks) will make mappers wait ages for their maps to get released (looking at number of maps being submitted). There are obvious maps which should be declined but they arent (even after 2 weeks). Its unhealthy and discouraging for new mappers and frustrating for old mappers.
Conclusion is that you (meaning admin team) deepened testing problems by unnecessary decisions.

I don’t think it’s Administration teams fault. Testing is and was bad a few months ago already and imo the main reason is the inactivity of testers (including me). Testing in itself already takes a lot of time, waiting for the mappers to fix their stuff takes even longer. I tried to speed up the process by deleting random spam messages to keep testing a bit more clean so mappers can immediately see their feedback but as expected I just got flamed for it (which is fine). So right now we have a TON of map channels, most of them containing a sht ton of spam garbage in them and inactive testers/mappers.
from a non-tester pov i still cant see how testing was in a bad state aside from no rerating and that sht, testers were mantaining a good release rate and keeping map channels up to date (mostly)

Testers didn't release anything the past year. An admin is releasing maps by hand

(Which im thankful for, so we at least have some release mechanism)(edited)

Okay, you've stated your opinion. If you want to discuss it correctly I'm always here and willing, but since you refuse to argue without ad hominem or strawman tactics we always end up with you running away and crying to others in DM's. Once you're ready we might actually move forward with this discussion, until then. Thanks for letting us know about your opinion

Grouped by category would also be nice. I might have a look here and there, but testing insane maps is not my level. And filtering them out first is annoying.
"Getting rid of offtopic conversations there wont change anything in case of real valuable feedback and testing" I disagree with this. Having pages on pages with random images and gifs will make testing harder for anyone that is returning, gathering info etc.

"3:1 - Krumplee, me and FJP vs Route" I disagree with this. I don't think Krumplee was exactly serious when he said:
xD release it for the meme
But you'll argue against that to the grave so we can skip past it
i think theres more demotivation from delayed releases than ppl talkin on their map's channel xd

You're complain about this
"Releasing maps in slower pace (1 map per 1-2 weeks) will make mappers wait ages for their maps to get released"
but also about this
"A lot of channels are dead and maps are left without any testing activity for months"
You are saying there's too little action by testers so channels are dead and inactive, and you're also saying that we are releasing too few maps
Ties in with same issue, too few or too inactive testers(edited)

I got dms from a few people that they got demotivated by that so I wouldn’t just let that slide
ik, but why regulate every channel if some mappers dont care about ppl spamming; if some ppl want u to regulate their channel then do it, but not make it a norm if it isnt necessary

This could be true, but it's incredibly hard to measure. I don't personally believe it is as of right now, but if it is, it might've been necessary.

can we fact check how many maps were submitted after mixi/fjp left
