I would advice you to test for yourself, increases margin until you don’t die by spikes, then looks at different way to react to this margin :

practice to learn how to react (only under 100-150)
use margin off in freeze (need T client)
bind in 1 key switch between 2 margin, 1 to react from freeze and 1 to play with
use a dummy who watch you and when you are in freeze you switch to dummy view to see how player will save you and then switch back to your view at the timing they hammer you
