It might be the old firewall thingy. Idk if you played Warcraft 3 online back in the day but it was impossible to join servers whilst on public internet connection. Might be hard to fix, depending on how strictly managed their internet is. Try the good ol' starting as administrator, allowing access through fire-wall, checking the internet as private and not public. If nothing else works, you might have to contact the management to "release" your PC, maybe they can grant access to only ddnet and not run any "risks". If that fails, you might have to get your own internet. (edited)
ive tried running it as admin as well as completely disabling firewall temporarily, the one thing ive done that seems to be problem is trying to force my DNS to change; but when i do that, my ethernet to the university's internet locks up and doesnt work LMAO
