So do you need a sponsor before renting a server? If so, does every current server have a sponsor(s)? Also, do the sponsors dictate where the server is located or does the kog administration control that? (sorry for all the questions, I couldn't find any clear answers)

No sponsor

But we need a server hoster/provider, I dont have the time to check every location about suitable hosters. People who live in the "selected" country, know best which hoster is good and which one is bad

KoG administration control that, except for a real sponsoring. If you pay the server, you can talk with the administration & they will tell you if that fits our needs or nah.

download
open ur ddrace directory folder and open config_directory to go to teeworlds directory
put it in maps folder
in menu press "run server"
copy the rcon password from the opened console
play
lan tab
join ur server
f2 > paste the password
type "map_change 4noobs"
u can use rcon commands like "super", "unsuper" to enter and leave godmode
