Hello fellow Gores players, since @KOF has asked me, today I will give you clarification about the history of the AiP - Gores map as it is a big factor on how KoG was influenced.
AiP-Gores was originally made thanks to my clan.
First we need to start with what AiP means; (Btw we always hated the abbreviation AIP it was not correct and a complete no-go.
My name is Tyson (aka Dezarion ingame) and I am the owner of the passed down AiP-Clan which was founded by ZarneXxX
The map "AiP" came from "All is Possible" which was a german Teeworlds clan consisting of German members.
The only solid proof of this history are my FORMER MEMBERS pretty much all of them spoke german. Today, here I am reaching out to my former AiP and BaG members; if you still know me from back then, please confirm who you were from back then and get in touch with me, I'd love to talk about the past with you. Also my story here today, can also be agreed and confirmed with the REAL members of my clan from back then. We had quite the amount of members once BaG started.
Our clan started around 2009 and we mainly played DDRace - if any OG player is still here;
Back in the days our clan-skin was "Black tee body, and feet colors red, orange or blue". The black color we had was special, it was only obtainable through the F1 command and it was our clan attire and a show off how cool we were, pretty much. The feet colors were either red - member, green - helper, orange - moderator or blue - admin
We kept that clan attire for quite a while. The clan tag was .:AiP:. | Playername
So my name used to be .:AiP:. | [TYSON] as "clan-tags" section did not exist back in the days.
So, the first maps of AiP were:
AiP - Race which was completely mapped by ZarneXxX im not sure inspired by what, maybe Run-Guy25? because we had stages in it. It was more like DDRace
Our clan Staff members were helping out newbies on the map with "helper" permissions and soon people began to play on the map "Xyz-DDrace and Koule" instead of the AiP Race
So ZarneXxX was inspired by Koule's map layout I believe and we all loved xyz in the AiP clan, hence the tileset that was used for AiP-Gores. Me myself I've contributed with the layout in AiP-Gores and it's overall look, platform ideas, background ideas, the sun in the background etc. Not much longer after we created the Gores map together, ZarneXxX completely retired from teeworlds and passed the entire leadership of AiP into my hands. (You may have seen some AiP-Maps with the text "Future-Radio.tk" at the start of the gores map, it is also originally from our clan as it was ZarneXxX' Website where he used to stream some Radio and put some GFX Artworks on.
The Koule maps were motivation for us and made us say "Hey let's create a map similar to this but make it possible to play as a single player" We kept the wild style of tunnels instead of the typical ddrace map that's just linear. To make it a little more appealing we then decided to pick a similar tileset to XYZ-DDRace as it was our most visited server before we had AiP-Race
As for what "Gores" means according to him AiP-Gores was called "Gores" because to him it meant; "typical solo - no hooking ceiling or touching the ground". -Other gores maps already existed where you had to just stay in the middle, although without the "wild Koule map look"
