They are not kill tiles, they are just (wrongly) rendered as such. In truth it's the end of the map and you get killed for crossing it with the center of your tee

Everyone interacts with them. Any time a map has open borders and becomes popular, there are people going to the end and shooting at it, trying to throw each other at it, getting their tee center really close to it and such
