Probably a VRAM issue then? Because refreshing skins reuploads every skin to the GPU

Either way if the driver reinstall fixed it then everything should be fine

it simply has to load all skin pngs, just decompressing them alraedy takes lot of time. and ddnet doesn't do it with all cpu threads, so a weak single core cpu is slow

Oh if it's just a momentary freeze that's normal, I just got the idea that it was the start of weird behavior

After you jumped, release the jump key, then hold it again to buffer it

Which files? Uninstalling shouldn't delete your config directory in appdata if you mean that. Otherwise, just try to delete the folder from steamapps manually after uninstalling

You can disable building the client, it's some simple flag to make that I don't remember off the top of my head
