I'm trying to run the ddnet client on my old ass Macbook pro bigsur version 11.7.10

Doesn't launch what so ever I tried the original teeworlds Client aswell. No chance

11.7.10 seems to be released in 2023 which doesn't sound that old - any more information you could give? does it just not start up? do you have any sort of terminal output? what version are you using? (steam, website, self compiled)

No it's an old Mac from 2014 totally outdated and discontinued doesn't even get any security updates anymore

thats just a config file you can put any commands in. the defaultautoexec_server.cfg executes that config file, so you can overwrite the default server settings

well if you put it in a subfolder then you have to execute it differently (path to the config file)

You won't need to compile it if the release already has a version for your platform

I just want the starndard, I have windows so I think that will work, i'll test it on my computer frist before trying to put it on the server

For example, I needed it to run on ARM, so I compiled it myself

and yeah, you just need to set gametype and map (and maybe look at the list of settings in the readme for extra configuration) and you'll have an insta server

yeah, you shouldn't store your own files in the steam folder because they might get removed by updates or when repairing the install
