i have experienced something different with shotgun bullets so i assume its the same with grenade bullets

Isn't that probably because the bullet is very fast and the demo only has 25tps?

In-game the bullet will be predicted so you see it fine

i can test it but afaik the demo recorder was also bugged with slow bullets

Try turning off cl_predict and see what's happening

cl_predict 0 and in the map file tune shotgun_speed 300 (a lot slower than default) (edited)
