unlikely but maybe you are having issues driving the steelseries headphones, some very cheap motherboards are far too weak

unlikely because steelseries is targeted at a very very casual consumer, they wouldn't really have a high impedence hard to drive headphone

also possible is that those steelseries headphones are just flat out bad but marked up because of branding

another possibility is that it's just a sound profile that you don't like, "better" is very subjective in terms of sound

objective measures of "better" exist but it doesn't always align with your experience, a very accurate studio monitor might sound very "flat" to you
