in plain, panning is positioning sound. If you think about headphones, basically you can decide which headphone gets more or less sound than the other, which can give the illusion that you hear sounds all around you

Also, i think it would be better if it was off by default (not sure if it is already), new mappers might struggle with this system, yet mappers that want to do something big will have an option to enable more precise menu

Tell me DDNet map testing isnt rigged, when theres is people waiting for their map at least being tested at all for months, while some testing leader keeps releasing tons of his "own" maps that are actually just bad remakes justatest

afaik its because of a lack of maps for the event
