There are sadly misguided people out there with 32-bit operating systems on 64-bit hardware

Can you check what CPU you have? You might be running a 32bit OS on a 64bit CPU as risu mentioned

32bit is like Win7, will be hard to keep working in the future as libraries etc break because very few people are still using it

FWIW I can't even run the win32 in wine, it always gets stuck on "Loading skin files"

The problem is, the whole world uses 64-bit, even phones. So 32-bit software is simply often not tested enough or problems are not noticed. The bug is most likely a compiler bug (the libraries it uses). This just shows that even these are not perfect and can contain such insane bugs (edited)
