Now that I think of it, this shouldn't be too hard to add as a client feature People are already running this game at framerates way higher than their monitor refresh so blurring together a few consecutive frames should pose no real issue

You have to hook downwards to get more speed and then go back and forth to gain height. It can be a bit tricky though.

usually you should hook when you are at the highest point of the hook, if you are on the left side you should start holding left until u go below your hook and then start pressing right (edited)
