Hello everyone, I have a problem related to cfg files. In the wiki ddnet org/wiki/Binds/ru it was noted that it is necessary to create a file deepfly.cfg in the ~/local/chare/ddnet directory (I use Linux fedora), then enter it into the console bind x exec deepfly.cfg , but I have after pressing X in the console it says that the deepfly.cfg file was not found. What could be wrong?

its under ~/.local/share/ddnet is the path correct? you can test it out by simply typing "exec deepfly.cfg" - no need to bind it to a key

post the content when you type this in your console: cat ~/.local/share/ddnet/deepfly.cfg

The implications are a lot of other undesirable side effects that are not so apparent, only other known effect are wrong finish/start times, because the subtick counter is in the mud (edited)

i can certainly think about a hard one: if your dummy is on a wall and inside freeze and u are about to land on it, that would also mean the player <-> player collision would need to be moved there too, since otherwise you skip through the dummy and get frozen, that would be bad for e.g. deep freeze. monthly call for contributors for twgame. having tons of tests for physics can make it easier to get changes at least partially right 😄

@Jupstar ✪ I just found the idea of Patiga good, adding a list of bounce points. This could also include positions, where the velocity is set to 0 (and therefore a direction change). That other function calculating the ddnet tiles hit also works with lists (vectors), shouldn't be too hard to call it multiple times and just extend the list

@Tater usually this edgecases should be only 1 and mostly 2 (if you hit (actually miss) a corner) elements in the list, it's hard to hit more then 3 times in a single tick, so I don't think we'd be running in performance issues (edited)

specifically linear has a weird bug where it seems to merge 2 different teams/players into the same rank kek (edited)

I'm willing to bet if you make it return a list and then profile it you'll find it's one of the most expensive parts of the physics, the other function that returns a list is like 20% of the entire physics code just to move a vector that usually has like 2-4 elements.

but I also don't think it should be applied to the regular move box functionality without elasticity because it might break those "automatic" map sections that rely on the specific floating point precision at those parts of the map. (edited)
