teleports like that dont come from high ping, they come from change in ping

You get used to it, it feels like LAN when hooking people, catching falling tees is consistent no matter their speed, you don't have to play a guessing game of where they actually are, just hook them directly

Tater client has a different setting for antiping apparently, but nah, antiping will show tees teleporting around regardless, because it's trying to predict them. Most of ddrace involves people not moving, so it rarely has negative effects

The way I time hammers is to hammer a bit after the peak of my jump, depending on the way I swing the tee up
