They were at the corner when they started the hook, the hook was just slightly delayed, doing that hook when that close is fairly trivial. The closer you are to the corner you're trying to hook through, the easier it gets.

its either this or have kog's voting system where if 3 people decide they want a new map among 30 people the vote passes regardless of if you are running
