people who installed a game thinking of a platformer race game being put in with the 13 years playing 15k hours ass players who played ctf and ctf only in a pvp gamemode isnt the best idea
Also I've noticed we don't advertise our map change feature very well, we need to craft a client onboarding tutorial. Most people think you just have to join servers and play whatever is on there
you do have to join another server if ur in a 50/64 server (the ones that appear at the top of the browser)

cuz votes are never getting past 50 players xd

however about that funneling new players thing, what about setting up servers for new players and add a checkbox like "unlock hardmode" to access all servers
That is what we are doing already. Players get put onto Tutorial server when they join the first time. And after leaving Tutorial their default filter is searching for "Novice" on DDNet

maybe the reason that ddnet wasnt so popular a few years ago is because the only people that stayed were the ones motivated enough to learn on their own without help ?
