i just installed the nvidia app and updated the driver there, then nvidia control panel decided that it now controls the screen resolution and i cant add my custom interlaced resolutions with CRU, does anyone know how to fix this?

It's very hard to kill electronics with static electricity from your body. They are tested for compliance using static discharge testers. If you are worried just ground yourself and the electronics properly

I can do that in writing. Talking to people is hard, cuz I don't know how to end the conversation, people keep adding more detail to my brain and I just freeze and it becomes their idea

You stop them, tell them "lets focus on the broad strokes first, then we can get into the details". It gives you the control of the conversation back, makes you sound wise and is true in most cases, people dive into the details too early

This is one thing I've never been good at. I can't write stuff like this. I code first, iterate until I'm happy with the code, then document.

oh thank god i fixed it, so apparently nvidia doesnt let u use any interlaced resolution on newer drivers so i had to install older, dont know from which versions they did it so i installed the 2021 driver

there is a teardown video for your laptop on YouTube. it's usually pretty simple/self explanatory, obviously don't get heavy handed and break anything

u can create a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel. you can get very fine-grained with it, down to overscan settings and such, if interlacing is natively supported then you should be able to toggle that too. but if you're using a VGA adapter or something, idk
