clans are just a tag you can add, there is no official creation or something so everyone can "fake" it and you can't do anythign about it but some clans create their own verifications, discord servers or even web sites, so you can just write your clan and tell it to your friends to add it

If you add your IP to the DNS record it would still be visible though, what's the difference to only sharing the server IP with your friends?

If you host the server on your local network then the only way to connect will be by knowing your public IP address, whether you tell that your friends directly or use a domain name for it doesn't change that they have the IP when they connect

i mean i have a vpn on the pi i could turn on. its always changing so if thats on i could use the domain so that its also safe and i won’t have to keep telling them

Hmm, I suspect it's not possible to host a server behind a VPN unless you can also forward UDP port 8303 somehow
