Hello there ! I'm new to animation envelopes, and I'm having trouble understanding all the things you can do with them. From what I understand, envelopes are used for :
  • Animation loops
  • Changing colors (tiles + quad) + movements (quads only). But can't manage :
  • Animation triggers ("start and "end")
  • Quad distortions (for example : changing size) Is that right ? Also, I see no difference in using the "sync" option (animations never restart when I touch the start line). What's the use ?

it's used to open doors by default for example. the number is the switch number

thats correct. the sync option was used like that back then until they changed sth with player/server-time synchronization and is kinda useless now afaik

I think you have to do it manually for every switch. you could copy & paste the command and only change the number if you really need that many :D
