I try avoiding getting myself banned as much as possible

but yet, to properly moderate in a community, such tools as seeing back deleted messages cannot be done by a Discord bot, since that is 100% against ToS and will get both the bot, and their creators involved banned

here, I'm not bound to their ToS, but still bound to the rules regarding my account when it comes to account safety

They need definitive proof that I would be using a modified version of Discord, I could be making shit up as well and demand immediate cease in accuse
Dear Discord Support Team,
I am writing to formally request a ban on a user within my Discord server for violating the community guidelines and my right to privacy. The user in question has been using a modified client to see deleted messages, which is a clear abuse of both the platform's rules and the privacy of all members in the server.
Here are the specific details of the incident:
Username of the Offending User: [Cellegen]
Discord Tag: [cellegenrih]
Server Name: [DDraceNetwork]
Server ID: [252358080522747904]
Incident Date: [22.05.2024]
The use of modified clients to access deleted messages not only breaches Discord’s Terms of Service but also undermines the trust and security that users expect within the community. This unauthorized access to deleted content compromises our members’ privacy and creates a hostile environment where individuals feel their communications are not secure.
I have gathered evidence supporting this claim, including screenshots and logs showing the user admitting to or displaying the ability to see deleted messages. I am more than willing to provide these upon request for further verification.
Given the severity of this violation, I kindly request that appropriate action be taken against this user to prevent further abuse and to maintain the integrity and privacy of our server community.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Please let me know if any additional information is required.
Best regards,

discord makes linux users install a new tar.gz or .deb file everytime it updates
even though changing the build info in a .json file achieves the same result

Q: What's the difference between logging a users deleted message vs taking a screenshot (and logs?) showing the user admitting to or displaying the ability to see deleted messages?

so perhaps the same thing will happen to discord itself ?
itll become popular, coorporate greed makes it garbage, something else claims to be better and takes over
from what ive heard all plugins are against ToS, its just that message loggers are also morally questionable

showing the user admitting to or displaying the ability to see deleted messages?
this is against ToS

yes, they apparently also asked for other things like being able to see deleted messages, which is indeed not against the terms of service if obtained via a different method(edited)

i was using vencord with a message logger a while ago. You can even set-up notifications for deleted messages. I was able to see deleted messages while not beeing online through that

i dont care about my discord account really - if they were to lock it i'd just create a new one

considering i reported someone for calling me the n word and a whole bunch of slurs in dm's almost 3 months ago, and they do so on multiple discords and they're still not banned - i'm not really scared of them picking me out of all things going wrong with and on discord really lmao
if you wrote a message to the public, it stays to the public

it should be on by default and get a notification that it's on. So that the more familiarized people can just turn it off and be done with it, while the newbies can enjoy being protected... by AI

oh.

Well.

Now that I wrote it out, it really sounds bad

I'm unsure whether this would be a good idea tbf. I understand why it's bad, but the drawback is massive. Having to use 4 apps to message different people would be so annoying to the layperson

The only concern I would have left is whether there is any guarantee of the quality of the interoperation. iMessage technically interoperates with regular sms but it's so awful that there is actual active stigma against android users in the US

I mean if the law doesn't state it I'm sure facebook wouldn't mind adding a shit emoji on the bottom right of any message that comes from outside their sphere
