you might have outdated assets/entities that don't have those shields in them, making them appear invisible

i tried it on nightly and they indeed do not show up without entities

it depends on how hard the novice is although dont expect noobs to know how to join a team

No, afaik dummy players aren't a concern when submitting a map. I can hardly see how can you make a novice part that's hard on dummy though. Considering what novice standards have become.
