I do not think I can competently answer your question, it depends on the community to which the server belongs, where you just can not connect to the server because of its rules. I was just wondering what would make a person write here instead of just updating the version
I will try to stick to the 500 number in the version so it is easily distinguished from other clients, as soon as DDNet 19.0 comes out I will move to 18500
