I can add that this is also the case with 2 other players. I would say it happens to everyone who tries it.

any news to this? To test it is really easy, just go into map editor -> create tiles layer -> game tiles -> deep unfreeze (game crashes)

It has been fixed already, the fix will be in the next release. But if you need it now you can enable nightly builds on Steam.

where did the skins go?

dote with particles apeeared , however i notice it appear after i connect dummy , maybe it could be helpful information ? probably people shooting rocket at this period and in that time while connecting dummy they where shooting and exploding it , could load like that ? but it's just theory
