No idea what's wrong but for some reason i cannot kill anymore. Is this a known issue? Any idea on how to fix? I have re-bound the key to see if it helps, tried /kill in chat but nothing seems to work? Kinda game-breaking for me, only reconnecting helps

Don't use /kill for killing, I guess it's this way so people don't use it for their normal bind and come complaining when they accidentally kill with it
Yeah, got that. What i mean is that, why would that matter if i bind a key in settings (esc>controls)

This didn't work, i tried multiple keys, as mentioned, that i knew weren't bound or blocked by another bind. It worked after manually unbinding K in console
That i didn't. I failed within 1min of playing a dummy map and noticed pretty quickly that killing did not work. Generally weird issue there.
In settings i did try to bind MB4, O, L and 2-3 more keys that weren't bound. And when following your steps and unbinding K in console, i went to settings and assigned MB4 for kill and it worked. Seems like K was blocking something, no idea. Maybe an old bind of mine, something was changed game-sided and it suddenly caused issues?

Definitely check the bind via the console if it happens again
(Rebinding in the controls menu should've fixed it though, having to manually unbind it in the console is pretty weird, you're right)(edited)
the game is open source, meaning that anyone who wants can be a developer. everyone who programmed things for ddnet did so voluntarily. also, all server costs are funded by donations, so the game can be completely free for everyone :)
