i would assume that its just changing the texture and some values related to the eyes, although the change wouldnt be possible on older clients

yep thats the main problem, reason why i ask

it can be done if you manage to convince everyone to either update to the newest version or change out the texture, then you would have to convince gameskin artists/hosters to update their textures

Afaik when on insane map you vote brutal maps, map doesnt change but it shows "brutal server" or smth, that could mislead you
