@Patiga i assume it's bcs of parallax zoom? i guess we could add an option to disable it specifically for entity backgrounds or is there a different way?

i thought we had a config to disable bg zooming anyway but can't find background_zoom or parralax_zoom config

yes, that is parallax zoom. its a case that we didnt think of, intersting the reason for why this isn't compatible with parallax zoom, ia that it isn't by itself a map element in the logical sense. it is supposed to be at the location of the tee, but not as scenery. I suppose this could be supported by some sort of map extension, but not the one we had previously

either a map setting which turns it on/off, or on a per-group basis again, but only with the binary option on/off

tbf that is a very nieche sort of map, which abuses a map as a gameplay indicator

Hi, I#m using DDnet on Ubuntu 22.04 via steam, does anyone know how to fix the icon in the taskbar? For me it just looks like this, which is hard to find sometimes if minimized:

To all the skin creators: Do you always export your image to png and then open the client to look how it looks like, or upload it to the skin renderer, or is there a faster workflow to see your result immediately?

I don't make skins, but if I were to. I would export it to my skins directory and then use the refresh button in the skins tab.

if refresh skins was a f1 command you could play a demo and refresh skins while playing the demo and see your result directly in action

try it again but don't touch the console, just do the f1 connect localhost or where u see the ip of servers write localhost and when u conect to the server then u can take the pasword of the console

that's the desktop file i'm using. i don't know how it was installed on my pc. i looked at the pkgbuild but couldn't understand it. if your icon won't show up, just use an absolute path for Icon= pointing to your icon png file. put the desktop file in your home folder in $HOME/.local/share/applications/ddnet.desktop. Then run update-desktop-database as root. (edited)

Is there a way to override the sv_solo_server map server setting? There are solo maps I want to practice saves on with my dummy, but I can't figure out how to allow /unsolo if the map commands have sv_solo_server 1.

You can't do it on official servers, but you can download the map and remove sv_solo_server 1 from map settings. Then launch up the map on your own local server.

there's a tool to extract and import map settings

you can also use editor with its "current map" feature
