Likely a false positive from Windows Defender. But make sure you didn't get a virus somewhere else by running a full scan with https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download to be sure.

I'm not sure with steam... normally it will stay.. go to start+r > appdata > roaming then DDnet, save this folder encase for every time you format teeworlds
