is there a guide out there to be better at the game? in both races and gores im doing novice and easy maps and really struggle to do moderate or main maps, how can I be better?

it can't hurt to watch pros play and try to replicate what they do. For gores i'd say the best you can do is train harder main maps on a test server to get a feeling quicker for ddrace i'd try to play dummy maps generally i'd make sure you feel confortable with your setup. Is the mousesens really good? is your mouse clicking nicely? does the game feel smooth etc.

ddrace is mostly about memorizing easy ways to do parts, using double jump to move accurately for example, rehooking at locations you're less likely to miss the hook at, etc. (edited)

Audio? I changed the audio files, used a site to find sounds that I liked and adjusted them, then converted them to work on teeworlds

so do u use wavpack as well?

I cut and edited the sounds, exported as 16bit wav in audacity, then used wavpack to convert so that ddnet recognizes the files

nice, i really hate the weird ass sites

https://www.wavpack.com/downloads.html "WavPack frontend" made it easy to convert them, you just drag drop the audio files into the window, then click "Go"
