please forgive my stupid questions, I haven't played this before
1. Is there a way to play solo (short of using LAN with only my machine)?
2. Is there a keybind to restart from checkpoint?
3. Is there a way to show decimals in the HUD timer?(edited)
1. you can join a team by writing /team x replace x with the team you want to be in. you can join teams from 0 to 63. team 0 is the default team you join when joining the server.
after joining a team you can lock the team with /lock. when a team is locked it means that no other people can join this team anymore and when you kill the entire team gets killed (under the condition that you have already started the race)
2. you can use /practice to practice a map first. in the practise mode you can use /rescue i think to reset to the last position you were not freezed.
3. not really without client mods(edited)
I think it would be unintuitive to play with different distance values for each zoom

If you aim far you can be more precise with your angle (for example of you zoom out really far you mouse diatance would be tiny and you wouldnt be able to aim at some degree values)

Hmm… maybe I should try it. But for example when you have near infinite max mouse distance - diesn’t your crosshair get lost far away from your tee? Imagine you have to hook left quickly, but your cursor is very far on the right. I don’t have a high mouse sense, so I’d have to move my mouse physically really far left to move the crosshair left of my tee. Do you know what I mean?

I get your point and ye, it wouldnt work
But I think in that case its better to set a small distance but constant for all zoom levels - basically you will always have the same level of control (+if you zoom in a lot your hook distance will take up the entire screen but i dont think you will often zoom like that)

You won’t have the same level. If you zoom out you have the same 360 degrees but more tiles, because the are smaller. I really like the option if having the same max mouse distance in the gameworld. So always 12.5 tiles. Then you can zoom out very much to check on your team mates without having to adjust hook behaviour. When for example waiting in a gores part.

Maybe an alternative is to adjust the mouse sense. Raise the mouse sense when zooming out.
