Ubuntu isn't bad as a first distro, if you are okay with things being a little windows-ish/rigid

After you are familiar with linux, then it depends on your requirements. If customizability and being up to date at the bleeding edge is important to you Arch Linux isn't too bad

i can play a lot more games on arch tho, it only uses 400mb of ram on idle, while windows uses about 2.5gigs out of 6

There is a derivative of Arch called Pop OS which is easier to use

Distro hopping is fun, but I always end up in gentoo after a while

anyways i cant tell if im getting good sleep or not i fainted at 5 pm and slept until 1 am LOL its now 4 am and i kinda wanna sleep again since i have to wake up at 7 for work

You can try different WMs, different bars, notification daemons, launchers

gentoo is unnecessarily complicated for me...

One of the most important things I miss from linux everywhere else is tiling wms

gentoo is unnecessarily complicated for me...

It's less complex than one might think at first. It's more time consuming though mostly due to compilation times on worse processors

im fine with cli, but ig I know just some basic stuff

its not a bork, but i installed plasma with all the default apps... and its easier to just reinstall arch, also i needed to reserve some space for kali

u can get all the software on kali on arch

it has a lot of useful tools

i used vim for a while, very kool and makes everyone think you're hacking something, and yeah just use it and you will learn the commands eventually

It's my go to cli text editor though I don't often edit in cli anymore. I used to have a cheatsheet on my wall

I use vim. I got used to the directional key bindings by playing nethack. not sure if I can recommend it though

I can recommend. This is how I learned hjkl too

ye I kinda like that type of games, but the main reason for the hjkl movement is that you don't need to move your hand to the arrow keys (correct?), which is not the case for me, since I have a split keyboard and don't move hands at all, but vim has many nice moves besides hjkl movement (edited)
