You may say it results in lower quality testing, that's still better than no testing. I am sure it will make testing fair and turn out better for all mappers and testers that actually want to work. I don't know if my testing quality was bad but I didn't test because it wasn't forced.

Pipou is a very good mapper, I’ve seen other maps get accepted very quickly as well when they are good

If you want to continue testing without the responsibility that's fine but the role should be one that comes with that responsibility.

New mappers are not the problem, it's usually easy to tell if their maps are fixable or a decline. Truth is that some maps are simply tedious to test because they're not fun to play, full of problems, too long or a combination of all of those. Nobody is going to put in the time to test a map that he doesn't enjoy and that likely few people will play after release. I can see why someone who has made such maps would be upset, but unfortunately that's just the way things are.

Providing a demo doesn't assure your map to get released. Your map can still have countless problems. A video only helps at understand the pathing on difficult maps and or to understand what the mapper actually meant to do (in case your found a different way you thought was legit)

I did as I asked people to test it for me, they provided lengthy feedback about each part and how we could try change it. We had them test several times until they were happy with the part. Also Jimmy could test parts as he was ok with pseudo flying. We ended up getting quite a few opinions before map testing.

I agree there needs to be a change, but this ain’t it. Testing still happens, it’s just slow (and sometimes really bad, I do try to give testing when I feel the tester critique is bad but I’m not great at it either) For increasing frequency it might be a good idea to increase the number of testers, it feels like we go through moderators much more often than we do testers. But saying that you didn’t test because it wasn’t forced just means you didn’t want to test. Tester role should be for those that want to test, not those that feel an obligation too. And anyone who wants to test would hate testing after being forced to do so enough times. I can only really argue with hypotheticals. I’d hate to be forced to moderate, as a matter of fact I’d probably moderate less if I was forced to do so, and that’s what I’m basing this off. Can't just increase the team if multiple opinions aren't required, I mean 100 testers all with their own opinions means bad maps released far more often. But it could work if you require multiple approvals. But the much bigger problem seems to be people get the tester role and then just stop testing and nothing happens. Only way to fix is make testing required. If you don't do something because it's expected of you then that sucks but roles should come with responsibility imo.
