What's your standpoint on the fact that Apple doesn't like being forced to USB-C. EU also banned them from making non-apple chargers worse.

I think they still can make a workaround. By adding a bit of technology to the charger which makesb its charging more optimized or something. Instead of the current verrification system in place to not limit apple only chargers. (edited)

They do have USB-C already at least on iPads. And I have to say the ports are way better than most other USB-C ports

Probably because there is an authentication chip inside of it that makes the charging unlimited.

Idk the exact law, but maybe they can skirt it by not supporting any fast charging except a proprietary new fast charging speed above the USB PD spec. Other manufacturers (xiaomi) already have things like extremely fast charging at like 200W

Charger creates voltage, delivers current. Battery absorbs it. You only have 3 variables to adjust, voltage of charger, impedence of charger, impedence of phone

I highly doubt they would ever get into legislating batteries. So if they do manage to without straying from the usb-pd and usb-c specs create a way for apple chargers to be the only way to charge an iphone fast they’ll get away with it

Currently its pretty stupid, that the chip inside lightning cable has to communicate with phone for power delivery, unsupported chip can only charge 1% od battery when phone is off, after that it stops
