DDNet client has a multitude of commands and settings that can be bound to nearly any key or mouse button. You can enter commands into the console, which by default is accessed by pressing F1.
cl_mouse_max_distance is how far the crosshair is from your tee, "2" is just a really low number, and "400" is the default. inp_mousesens is mouse sensitivity, "1" is just a low number and "200" is the default

i dont understand exactly why it works, but something about restricting crosshair distance and mouse sens to really low numbers just lets the angle snap to only 45s

as you can see a good controller can detect those micro movement you do, but a cheap controller cant, it will just stuck at every 45 deg like there is magnet or something
i strongly not recommend any ddnet player buy a damn good controller just to play this game

if you want to move on to play this game with controller, you need to clear about how you want to bind it in order to fire+hook+move+jump+aim+change weapon at the same times

which i decide to follow the keyboard controll logic, left hand area handle movement and right hand area control aim+fire+hook
you may check 1:04, I was trying to wall actually but the moment i release my stick (my left and right bind), the stick bounce back and input the opposite direction of movement so i fail to wall
maybe you can bind tap input to a different key, it will move you only for very short time... liike mushroom for tap input, no matter how long you hold, it will only move once or idk

doesn't exist, only macro can do that and macro is not allowed for this game

yes i am, for now just make my low end controller work in the best way... i can also program a bit, maybe it's not so hard to make the controller work in the ui.
