Hi, i really enjoy the current advent event and i think a lot of tryharding people too. And based on that i have the(already existing) idea of DDnet-Seasons. Idea: Every week we have like 10 selected maps of every Gamemode. Like 1 Novice,2 Moderates, 1 DDmax, 1 Dummy, 2 Solo, 2 Brutals and 1 Insane. For every finnished map, you get 20 Points. Rank 1-20 get up to 20 extra points. After 1 week the maps are changing and 1 season goes for like 4 month. Thats basically the concept. A points ladder for that is needed, some commands like /top5season /pointsseason /seasonrank and an added vote(seasonmaps) besides the gamemodes. I think it would strengthen the customer(player) retention, because we have a weekly challenge and good ranks lead to more points. The ladder would also show the actual skilllvl of players if they play every week, cause for example new players only finish the easy maps, good players finnish every map and the best get extra points for ranks. Since iam a very active player, I would also like to support you, e.g. with map selection or other conceptual topics.

Let's wait until the end of December at least though. It also seems to have the effect of driving a lot of activity to these maps, getting new records of number of daily finishes for them. (edited)

Well, it's under the assumption that some people like seasons that much that they volunteer to select the maps for them and don't get to participate then

I feel like seasons would make the "uniqueness" of this event disappear tho. So some people (tryhards) would probably compete for the season points. but that should amount to... very very few players? idk I may be wrong

Well i think its also cool for new players or in generel players to see how good they are and also to play already finnished maps. Its like a grind thing for me. Every Player starts with 0 points and new player also have a chance to get a higher rank than starkiller

For new players its a challenge to finnish the map itself. If your a noob your maybe happy to finnish a moderate and get the season points for it. And my idea was like 20 for finnishing a map and up to 20 extra points for the top 20. In general a lot of games have daily tasks, for example kill 2 people with a shotgun, do a headshot and you get a weapon skin whatever. Its to bind the players to the game. And ye not everyone tryharding the event because maybe its just for a short time and not an offical leaderboard? (edited)

True, the XP are the points maybe dunno. In League of Legends its also mainly just the rank, the skins and xp you get dont play a big role
