There are numerous gfx related bugs users encountered. Not all are fixable, but might have workarounds.

As I mentioned, I'm isn't expert of technical part of this game.
Probably, if u want fng, need to download edited game version for fng. Search github forks of ddnet. Futhermore, probably, need to compile all itself, but, most popular solutions, commonly, have already compiled version, just for "launch from a box".(edited)

well, I downloaded the server from the link from murpi and it was a regular ._ server. at least I didn’t see any changes, just the map was changed by default
