my theory of the universe is, since the big bang, every element containable was in one spot, then suddenly popped out from it's core (which was the biggest black hole yet) to the endless space, but the thing is, when people claim that the spread of the universe increases rapidly, there cannot be 100% accuracy between movements, until like a milliard years have been passed, since from the universe's perspective, it's one second, thus we only calculate, like what, a nano second? Even less probably. So with that in mind, we don't know the extent of a repeating cycle of expansion the universe takes, thus we assume, that the universe is expanding in a rapid state, while it's just part of a repeating cycle which makes it an opposite thing. It can be, that it's not expanding, but suddenly tries to shrink, due to the biggest black hole yet gaining more mass and power to pull space into it, thus trying to repeat the cycle of being in one spot and exploding once again. Thing about the universe is, since it is unmeasurable on how big it is, we can simply assume, that no matter how far elements are in the universe, as long as the expansion is decreasing in speed, it'll mean a cycle repeating.
